The Australian Acoustic Observatory involves many participants who contribute to the deployment and management of infrastructure, and the collection of acoustic data across a range of ecosystems.

A2O participants include universities, National Parks and other government bodies, the Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network (TERN), Traditional Owners, the Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC), Bush Heritage Australia (BHA), Birdlife Australia, the Tasmanian Land Conservancy, and other private conservation organisations, and several private landholders.

The A2O provides an opportunity for land owners and managers to become involved in a nationally significant scientific project that will expand the understanding of Australia’s rich and diverse ecosystems.
